As I recall, the index in the back of Denissen does not include the main entries in the book. For example, Alexis Saucier is listed as on pages 333 and 466 in the index, but there is a main entry for Alexis Saucier on page 1133. Users whould be made specifically aware of this.
Excellent point!!!! There are advantages to membership. The index was created by volunteers when the volumes were republished and there were obvioous flaws. Members doing research in Denissen need to search within the actual page files that "should" be where their ancestors will appear as well as where the index indicates.
