A series of articles about Detroit's early history prepared by Clarence M. Burton is arranged into the form of a pamphlet. There is a list of property owners and a history of the Detroit settlement from 1701 to 1710, which has been termed by some as Detroit's first City Directory. There is a supplement correcting some errors of interpretation by the Rev. Christian Denissen that is also included. This original work was first published in 1896 and has been out of print since the first part of this century. This edition now includes a name index that was not available in the original work. 102 pages, softbound.
