This softcover book contains records from the City Cemetery, also called the Russell St. Cemetery, which no longer exists. It was ordered vacated in 1869. Most of the bodies were exhumed between 1880 and 1882 and moved to Grosse Pointe, to an area near the Pest House, and other cemeteries. No burial register exists for this cemetery, except for lists sent to the City Clerk's office from which this book has been compiled. Approximately 894 burials are listed. Burial date, name, age, cause of death, place of death and nativity are given in these never before published records. Published in 1996, this book is 37 pages including the index |
