These marriage records were taken from the records of Ste. Anne Church which is the oldest Catholic church in Detroit. The records were compiled as a joint project between the Detroit Society for Genealogical Research and the French-Canadian Heritage Society of Michigan as a Detroit300 Tricentennial project. The book is divided into three parts. Part I is a chronological listing of the records as they appear in the register. Each record contains the name of the bride and groom, parents and/or witnesses, residence, and any pertinent notes. Part II is a listing of the records of the exterior parishes which were under the jurisdiction of Ste. Anne Church. Appendix A is an alphabetical listing by grooms' names and Appendix B is an alphabetical listing by brides' names. Published in 2001, this softbound book is approx. 500 pages, including a full-name index. |
